Updates.......after a long long time

Long time since I posted last. There have been a lot of actions all around the world. India has won the Asia Cup after a long long wait of 15 years, England is running up 3-0 in the home one day series against Australia, Westindies are struggling to salvage some pride against the Proteas in a home series and what not.

The bold step of dropping Yuvraj Singh for lack of fitness and form must have sent a strong signal to other so called seniors who hope to keep playing for India just because of their names. That Yuvraj is back in action in the next Test series against Srilanka was always on the cards, as we just needed to wake him up a bit, not keep him in the side lines for long, with the world cup round the corner.

The part success of younger guns like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina augurs well as well.

I was a bit surprised by the failure of Murli Vijay though. He looked to be a very compact batsman in the longer version not so long ago. His exploits in the IPL not withstanding, he was always going to be more of a test or may be a one day player than he is for T20s. The Zimbabwe series was the ideal platform for him to launch a sparkling international career. But as it turned out to be, he could not cash on. In fact, Dinesh Karthik looks a better bet than him, even as a pure batsman.

We have loads of international cricket coming up from England in the next few days, when Australia takes on Pakistan, then Pakistan locks horn with England.

Can't wait...........Just can't.
