Deccan keep their hope alive

Dale Styen's terrific spell of 4-18 restricted the Deccans at 151 in their stipulated 20 overs as only Rohit Sharma (51) and Manish Mishra (41) could come up with notable scores.

But they didn't lose hope, came out hard at the RCB. Dravid, carrying on from where he had left, scored a 35 ball 49, and as soon as he departed, their innings started to fall apart. Only Uthappa threatened to run away with the match again, smashing Ryan Harris for 21 runs in the 18th over, but in the 19th over, Harmeet Singh castled him in the very first delivery of the 19th over and the match was as good as over.

As the wickets are slowing down considerably at the end of a long gruelling season, the slower bowlers are starting to make more and more impact. Harmeet, by no means express at 120 KMPH, bowled a slower leg break, forcing Uthappa play all over it. The very next ball was a much similar delivery that trapped Styen at the front. It was a good show from this young man Harmeet, who finally has started contributing in an effective manner from the last couple of matches.

The RCB, still hang on to the second spot in the points table on net run rate, but the Deccans have moved two spots over the CSK and the KKR.
