I missed the better of the two matches yesterday, RCB vs KIXP. Punjab, despite of scoring in excess of 200, were beated by Banglore, in a match where almost every batsman, with the exception of Yuvraj Singh, made merry. Bisla, Bopara, Kallis and Uthapa, all scored half centuries, but in the end it was Kallis & Uthapa's effort that put the match beyond the KXIP. Must have been great fun to watch.
Not so much the second match though, where except for Dhoni's heroics, there was nothing much to see. At a stage, it looked like CSK, batting first, would settle down with a total somewhere around 130, but Dhoni had other ideas. He blasted a 33-ball 66 propelling CSK total to 164, which proved too much for KKR. He scored 51 of the last 19 deliveries he faced.
Good to see Dhoni batting in this manner. Tiwary, the other batsman I had an eye on, flattered to deceive, as he fell to Gony after two consecutive boundaries.
Still a long way to go, the tournament is still wide open.
