A Dada special does it for KKR

Sourav Ganguly, finally played a perfect modern day T20 innings, blasting 88 off 54 balls, which helped KKR set a total of 181. Not that he was awfully out of touch, he had scored two 30s and one 50 in the run up to this inning. The problem was that, he was consuming far too many deliveries for this format. But on this occasion, making amends, he blasted 5-sixes and 9-fours, the best being a Pragyan Ojha over, where dada took 21 runs. He found an able partner in David Hussey, who scored a 27-ball 31 to allow him the freedom to go for his shots.

In reply, the Deccans started well, despite of losing Gilchrist early. GIbbs threatened to put them in the driver seat, and when Symonds joined him, Deccan looked like giving KKR a good run for their money. But as Gibbs fell trying to repeat one of his most productive shots over long on, it became difficult for his team to maintain the stiff asking rate. Gibbs had scored a 45-ball 50 before Shane Bond removed him. Symonds, despite of scoring a well made 45 off 37 ball, could not prevent the inevitable. Deccan could manage only 157 in 20 overs, losing the match by 24 runs.

KKR keep on springing surprises every now and then, and this result has helped them move to the joint 4th place in the table (5th if net run rate is considered), and they would certainly take a lot of heart from this victory.
